12' Tent, Camp 3

Stay in a beautiful, fully kitted-out Belle Tent here at Owls Gate on our small, private site.

Beds, duvets and a fully fitted out kitchen tent are all provided, just bring linen, food and yourselves.

We were featured last year in the July 12th Guardian newspaper travel section.

Go to HERE to see the article.

We open this year on Friday 22nd May and close on Monday 21st September 2009.

Availability: We still have availability for this summer including the August school holiday time. Please email us your required dates.

Summer is here and the MET Office promises it will be a good one! So here is an update on what we are up to with improving the conditions in the camps and around the site generally.

There are now raised wooden floors in all of the camping and kitchen tents.

Dave has made our chicken house and now we have hens and muscovy ducks in the bottom field, which means our own free-range eggs. Pictures of them can be seen on The Site

We have now put up our poly-tunnel hoops, but no cover on it as yet, so we will see how we get on as to trying to provide tomatoes and other produce for our guests - so watch this space.

We have also done some landscaping and improvements in the bottom field to allow more access for activities etc.

See our Visitors' Book for comments and testimonials from our previous guests!

The whole site caters for a maximum of 17 people in 3 camps. Each camp can accommodate up to a maximum of 6 people and has two 'bedroom' tents of different sizes, it's own equipped kitchen tent, barbeque and stand-pipe, plus each tent has a solar light. In other words, it's a bit like a two bedroom cottage only without the cottage.

The sleeping tents have rugs and carpets, real beds, mattresses, duvets and storage.

The kitchen tents are fully equipped with gas stove, fridge and everything you would need to cook up a gourmet meal.

The site also has a bar/social tent with a woodburner and a campfire area. There is a building with toilets, showers and hair-dryer with a further shower and toilet in our workshop nearby.

Except for mid July to the end of August you can book a tent in a camp, however you may have to share the kitchen with one other tent.

See Campsite Layout for a plan of the campsite showing positions of the tents and kitchens etc.

We are sorry but for various reasons we cannot allow dogs on site.
