Stay in a beautiful, fully kitted-out Belle Tent here at Owls Gate on our small, private site with campfire, and experience 'glamping' at it's most relaxed. Beds, duvets and a fully fitted out kitchen tent are all provided, just bring linen, food and yourselves. The whole site caters for a maximum of 17 people in 3 camps. Each camp can accommodate up to a maximum of 6 people and has two 'bedroom' tents of different sizes, it's own equipped kitchen tent and stand-pipe, plus each tent has a solar light. In other words, it's a bit like a two bedroom cottage - only without the cottage. The site also has a bar/social tent with a woodburner and a campfire and barbeque area. There is a building with toilets, showers and hair-dryer, with a further shower and toilet in our nearby workshop which also has a washing machine and drying lines. See Campsite Layout for a plan of the campsite showing positions of the tents and kitchens etc. We open this year on Friday 28th May and close on Monday 20th September 2010. We are offering a late availability discount for the week commencing Friday 30th July. So far it has been a nice warm, dry summer - long may it continue. We missed most of the winter as we were away travelling in the Pacific islands, Australia and New Zealand, and getting some tips on making proper barbeque areas. So here it is, a fully covered barbie area to play in.
We have more hens this year in the bottom field, which means more of our own free-range eggs - so please don't bring eggs with you. We have also done some landscaping and improvements in the bottom field to allow more access for activities etc. including a badminton net and football goal. See our Visitors' Book for comments and testimonials from our previous guests! We are sorry but for various reasons we cannot allow dogs on site. However there are a very good kennels at Collans Cross - about 3 miles away.

The Sleeping tents
All of the tents have raised wooden floors, carpets & rugs, wall and roof linings, plus a real double bed or two singles, chest of drawers, bedside tables, tea-lanterns and solar light. We provide duvets and pillows and extra blankets. The Kitchen Tents
Our kitchen tents are fully equipped with pans, crockery and utensils, gas hob and fridge, storage boxes, tables and chairs & solar light - in other words everything you would need to cook up a gourmet meal. There is also the new barbeque area plus you can always cook on the camp-fire. The 'Bar' and Recreation Tent
The 'bar' tent for social gatherings, bring your own wine or beer. There is a woodburner, fridge for drinks, CD player plus power points for mobile phones. The tent is also nice to be in during wet days for playing board games or thrashing your friends on our original 1970's football table. If
