Although Owls Gate has an off-the-beaten-track feel, it is only 5 minutes from the A395 and 20 minutes from Launceston where there is a Tesco.

It is in easy reach of the whole of the North Cornwall coast, Boscastle is 6 miles and Tintagel 7 miles.

Most of the North Cornwall coast is great for surfing, you can hire surfing equipment or book surf lessons at most of the beaches. Many of the beaches are tidal so care needs to be taken, although most do have tidal notices and a lifeguard.

Safe beaches for children are at Widemouth and Polzeath. We can also tell you how to get to secret beauty spots on the moors with small idyllic streams, great for picnics with young children.

Bodmin Moor is fantastic for walking, the high tors of Roughtor and Brown Willy are accessable direct from the site via a Cornish sunken lane which starts at the corner of our property.

Davidstow Holy Well

The town of Camelford is 4 miles and has small shops, including a Co-op, leisure centre and art galleries. There are a couple of good pubs for food, and also a farm shop selling local and organic produce, organic dry goods (rice & pasta etc) cheeses and fish.

The Eden Project is approximately a 50 minutes drive.

For more information about the locality, see the Davidstow Parish website

Please feel free to call Dave or Laura at any time on 01840 261556 if you need more information and to check availability, or Email us.
