Camping - Booking Conditions

Terms and Conditions

1) The Contract
Belle Tents Camping offers short holiday rentals of one or more tents plus kitchen and ancillary equipment erected at at Owls Gate, Davidstow, Camelford, Cornwall. PL32 9XY. Little Owl is also offered for holiday rental and is part of the property. The owners of the property are Mr D. L. Rothwell and Miss L. K. Ashton and will be referred to as ‘the Owners’. Belle Tents Camping acts on behalf of the Owners. The contract is between the Owners of the property and the Client and the Contract is entered into when Belle Tents Camping issues a booking confirmation either by post or email and will be subject to all the Terms and Conditions. The Client is advised to check the booking form thoroughly.

2) Deposit
If a booking is made four weeks or more before the holiday is due to start, it must be accompanied by a deposit of thirty-three percent (33%) of the rental fee. If booking is made less than four weeks before arrival, the full rent, plus any additional charges, must be paid at the time of booking. In the event of a booking not being accepted all fees paid will be refunded immediately.
The Clients should complete the online Booking Form to provisionally book the accommodation. This provisional booking will be held for 48 hours during which time the deposit or full payment of the holiday price is required as applicable. If the payment is not received within the stipulated time, the booking will be cancelled. The 48 hour time period allowed for deposit/full payment may be extended by request in writing. By paying the deposit/full payment, the Client acknowledges that he or she agrees to these Terms and Conditions.

3) Final Payment
Once the booking is received and accepted, the Client is liable for payment of the balance of rent, plus any additional charges, four weeks before the start of the rental. Non-payment by the due date may be treated as a cancellation. If it is, a cancellation fee will be payable as listed in paragraph 4.

4) Cancellation
The Clients are strongly advised to take out holiday insurance to cover them in the event of having to cancel due to accident or sickness.
In the event of a cancellation, a cancellation charge will be payable based on the number of days before the holiday start date the cancellation is received by the Owners in writing and is specified in the table that follows:

Consecutive weeks are considered to be one holiday.

5) Method of Payment
Payments may be made by cheque or Internet Banking. Cheques should be made payable to Belle Tents and sent to
Owls Gate
Camelford, Cornwall. PL32 9XY
Post dated cheques are not acceptable.

6) Changes of Dates
The Owners may consider a request from the Client to change the dates on the booking form after confirmation has been issued provided that the Client pays any increase in charge where applicable.

7) Duration and Times of Letting
Rentals are for a minimum of two nights and maximum of four weeks and commence at 3.00 pm and end at 11 am on the day of departure unless otherwise notified. The period cannot be exceeded unless the Owners give written approval. The Client will be liable for all charges of whatsoever nature incurred because of an unauthorised extension.

8) Use of The Property
The number of persons occupying the property must not exceed the maximum stipulated on the website or booking form. Little Owl and all of the tents, cabins and caravan on the property are strictly non-smoking and the Owners reserve the right to serve eviction notices effective immediately on the entire party if this condition is not complied with.
Clients must not bring, nor use on the property, their own electrical appliances such as amplifiers and speakers, kettles, toasters, hot-plates or similar equipment.
Clients are not permitted to erect their own tents or other structures on the property without prior permission of the Owners. It is not permitted for the Client to bring their own caravan or sleeping van onto any part of the property.

9) Complaints
All complaints must be notified to the Owners immediately so that an on-the-spot investigation can be made if necessary and remedial action taken if required.

10) Breakages or Damage
The Client agrees:
a) To pay for any losses or damages to the property, caused by the Client or a member of their party (reasonable wear and tear excluded).
b) To take good care of the property and leave it in a clean and tidy condition at the end of their stay. A cleaning service is not provided during the rental.
c) To provide the Owners reasonable access to the property.
d) Not to part with possession of the property, or share it, except with members of the party shown on the booking form.
e) Not to cause annoyance or nuisance to occupants of nearby premises.

11) Refunds
If for any reason beyond the Owner’s control the property is not available on the date booked (owing to fire damage for example), or the property is unsuitable for holiday rental, all rent and charges paid in advance by the Client will be refunded in full, but the Client shall have no further claim against the owners.

12) Liability
It is drawn to the attention of the Client that Belle Tents Camping site has a campfire, wood-fired barbeque area and woodburner. Belle Tents Camping, for itself, and the Owners, their employees and agents shall not be liable for any accident, damage, loss, injury, expense or inconvenience, whether to person or property, which the Client or third party may suffer or incur arising out of, or in any way connected with the rental. In addition, Belle Tents Camping and the Owners accept no liability for loss or damage to the Clients’ possessions on the Owners’ property or land.

13) Brochure Descriptions
Some of the information on the property web site and brochure relates to matters beyond the property such as shops and public houses. Closure of such premises and other changes to external facilities are outside the Owner’s control and therefore these details cannot be relied upon absolutely.

14) Pets
Pets are not permitted in any part of the property.

15) Linen
Towels and bed linen are not provided for the camping tents or caravan. Duvets and pillows are available and if the Clients and members of their party wish to use them they must bring their own bed linen, failure to do so may mean the Client and their party being asked to leave. Alternatively, Clients are welcome to bring their own bedding or sleeping bags intead. Towels and bed linen are provided in Little Owl.

16) Adult Supervision
The climbing frame with swings is only to be used by children up to 12 years of age and parents are responsible for their safety. The Clients accept full responsibility and agree to ensure that there is adult supervision at all times for any children in their party under 18 (eighteen) years of age.

17) Breach of Contract
If there shall be a breach of any of these conditions by the Client, the Owners reserve the right to re-enter the property and terminate the rental without prejudice to the other rights and remedies of the Owners.

18) Authority to Sign
The Client who completes the booking form certifies that:
a) He or she is authorised to agree the Terms and Conditions on behalf of all persons included on the booking form, including those substituted at a later date.
b) The signatory is over eighteen years of age and a member of the party intending to occupy the property; and
c) Agrees to take responsibility for the party occupying the property.

19) Pricing
The Owners reserve the right to alter prices for available rentals at any time.

20) Validity Clause
If any term or provision in these Terms and Conditions shall in whole or in part be held to any extent to be illegal or unenforceable under any enactment or rule of law that term or provision or part shall to that extent be deemed not to form part of this agreement and the enforceable part of the remainder of this agreement shall not be affected.
